For Brown Girls, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that contributes to the mitigation of poverty, health, gender and environmental related problems by enhancing the capacity for communities of color to access and utilize knowledge and resources for the benefit of these marginalized communities. Our mission is to uplift, motivate, and cultivate the minds of people of color.
For Brown Girls, Inc. is rooted in racial healing and narrative change by improving the quality of life of underrepresented groups through sustainable programs focused on education, advocacy, and women empowerment. We accomplish this by displaying leadership to our disadvantaged youth as we provide philanthropy and community service efforts. Our primary focus is strengthening marginalized communities.
At For Brown Girls, Inc., we envision a world where people of color, regardless of ethnicity, income, or social status, are nurtured and empowered to reach their full potential. We embrace our responsibility to create a better future by fostering hope, inspiring vision, and guiding others toward positive change.
Our commitment lies in supporting marginalized communities by improving lives, alleviating suffering, and cultivating a vision for meaningful change. As leaders, we strive to lead with wisdom, knowledge, and sound judgment. Through building partnerships and fostering collaboration, we aim to create a lasting legacy and make a transformative impact in our community.
For Brown Girls, Inc. is dedicated to year-round community service, including supporting the Community Kitchen and establishing a bill fund at Stewpot Community Services to assist the homeless and those in need. True happiness lies in gratitude for what you have and the selfless act of spreading joy, a lesson many spend a lifetime discovering.
Real fulfillment comes from giving back to the community. While material wealth can be earned, the deep sense of satisfaction and gratification comes from helping others. Located in West Jackson, Stewpot Community Services plays a vital role in addressing the needs of the less fortunate, and we are proud to partner with them in this mission.
Jackson Public Schools recognizes the importance of community involvement as a key factor in creating successful schools. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” For Brown Girls, Inc. is committed to supporting the Jackson Public School District by actively engaging in various program areas, including charitable initiatives, student achievement, student incentives, teacher appreciation, character development, career exploration, school improvements, and community service projects. Our Founder and CEO proudly serves on the Jackson Public School District Community Engagement Council, further strengthening our partnership and dedication to the success of JPS students.
Since 1984, the Mississippi Food Network (MFN) has been dedicated to feeding Mississippians and working toward a vision of eliminating poverty-related hunger across its service area. Unfortunately, for the eighth consecutive year, Mississippi has been ranked as the most food-insecure state in the nation.
Supporting your local food bank is essential to helping the working poor in our community. Through our One Meal, One Life Campaign, our primary goal is to collaborate with MFN and contribute to their mission by donating 9,000 meals annually to those in need.
Although anyone can develop a mental health problem, African Americans sometimes experience more severe forms of mental health conditions due to unmet needs and other barriers.
Are you a woman who thinks you have to do it all? Do you ever stop attending to the needs of others so you can take time out for you? If this fits your profile, you may have something called Superwoman Syndrome.
There is a fundamental difference between thriving and surviving. Surviving means, “to continue to live or exist,” while thrive can be defined as “to grow or develop well, to prosper or to flourish.” The difference between these mindsets are relatively straightforward.
It’s so easy to feel the need to fill up your schedule because your open time is viewed as “free” time instead of “me” time. When do you get to take the time to cut out time for yourself when there’s so much being asked of you or that you want to do?
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions in the Jackson Metropolitan Area. Your generous donation will fund our mission. For Brown Girls, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit recognized by the IRS. All donations are tax-deductible.
