Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions in the Jackson Metropolitan Area. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
For Brown Girls, Inc. has received a grant from Black Girls Rock of MS, Inc. to exemplify community service for Global Youth Services Day in support of Youth Services of America in April 2020. We will be headlining a COVID-19 Response to help Mississipppi Food Network as they support communities impacted by the pandemic. Our response will enable this food bank to secure the resources they need to serve 3,500 meals to the most vulnerable members of the community during this difficult time.
Statistics show a greater at-risk factors for COVID-19 among the general population, such as age and pre-existing health conditions, many may not realize food-insecure households are likely more susceptible to the virus. This is believed to be due to lesser access to adequate health care, lower resistance or compromised immune systems, stigma or bias, or lack of information about proper prevention and care.
The Voter Engagement Project (VEP) is a new communal piece to MS Votes’ #Up2Us Campaign and partnership with For Brown Girls, Inc. VEP aims to enhance the level of engagement and support of institutions that provide direct services to communities and pockets of potential voters that may not come in direct contact with MS Votes.
