Unita Blackwell Community Leadership Award

Nominate a Community Leader

The Unita Blackwell Community Leadership Award celebrates visionary leaders and philanthropists who are making a remarkable impact in Mississippi and Georgia, creating better places for people to live and thrive. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellence in leadership through outstanding initiative, significant contributions, and the ability to inspire others. By honoring these achievements, we aim to acknowledge their current efforts, encourage their continued work, and inspire others to follow their example in serving and uplifting their communities. 


Eligibility Requirements and Selection Criteria:

  • The recipient exemplifies the spirit of For Brown Girls, Inc. as demonstrated by  her commitment to community-based leadership in both professional and  volunteer capacities.
  • FBG members and non-members are eligible to receive the award.
  • Nominations for emerging and innovative leadership, as well as  long-standing accomplishments, are encouraged.
  • Only individuals are eligible for nomination.
  • Previous FBG Community Leadership Award recipients are not eligible.


Nomination and Selection Process:

  • Nomination form must be submitted to FBG at info@FoBrownGirlsInc.org  (Additional support materials may be included, but not required).
  • Only completed nomination forms will be considered.
  • Self-nominations are not accepted.
  • Nominations are reviewed and vetted by the FBG Awards Committee.
